CANFIELD — When Angels of Easter Seals met recently at Tippecanoe Country Club, officers were elected, new members were welcomed, and the fundraising activities were reviewed.

Phyllis Bacon of Canfield was elected president. Other officers for the 2009-10 season include Linda Welsh, first vice president; Jacqueline Schweiger, second vice president; Nancy Varley, corresponding secretary; Kathy Carroll, recording secretary; Pattie Ceglie, Treasurer; and Deborah Liptak, past president.

Bacon is also vice president of the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens, former trustee of Ballet Western Reserve and former officer of Youngstown Symphony Guild and a member of the Stambaugh Pillars. She was chairman of the 2008 “Magic of an Angels Christmas” and has done the children’s tree for that event the past three years.

She attended Youngstown State University and lives in Canfield with her husband, Vincent, and has three children.

During the review of fundraising activities, it was noted that Angels raised $119,400 from such events as “The Magic of an Angels Christmas,” Holiday Brunch and Sweet Shoppe, Angels and Friends Cookbooks, American Girl Doll Fashion Show, and Spring Luncheon and Style Show.

The Angels welcomed new members Judy Bauman, Connie Foster, Jennine Hodge and Lynn Sahli.

All the money earned by Angels of Easter Seals is donated to the Easter Seal Center of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
