Valley adds five more state track and field champions
Lakeview senior Ben Moody won individual state titles in the 110-meter hurdles and the 100 dash, while Mooney (4x100) and Salem (4x200) won boys sprint relay titles in Division II action at Saturday's state track and field meet at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
And in Division I, Canfield junior Dustin Brode took home the gold in the shot put, while Boardman senior Corey Linsley placed second and Spartan senior Alex Lipinsky was 15th. On the girls side, Fitch sophomore Ali Tolich was second in the discus. Most of the Division I competition will be held Saturday afternoon.
Other notable Division II results this afternoon were West Branch junior Emilee Zetts, who placed second in the 800; Lakeview's boys 4x100 relay, which took third and Poland junior Robert Balzano, who was third in the 400.
