TRUMBULL COUNTY Poster, essay winners


These students were winners in the Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District’s 2009 conservation poster contest, which was called “Dig It! The Secrets of Soil.” The district provides information and technical guidance to county residents, property owners, farmers and developers on natural resource conservation issues.

Kindergarten and Grade 1

Max Parise, Bazetta Elementary, first; Marcus Cupp, Bazetta Elementary, second; Zachery Veselich, Bascome Elementary, third.

Second and Third grade

Emily Campana, Bazetta Elementary, first; Rebekah Stanhope, Joseph Badger Elementary, second; Ryan Martin, Washington Elementary, Niles; honorable mention, Kiersten Tricker and Mya Kacvinsky of Badger and Isabella Adkins and Vincent Mauri of Bazetta Elementary.

SIXTH THROUGH EIGHTH GRADE

Clay Cordner, LaBrae Middle School, first, $75 prize; Stella Owsley and Gina Cerimele, LaBrae Middle School, second and third places respectively; they get $50 and $25, respectively; honorable mention, Haley Persons of LaBrae.

Grades 9 through 12

Zaakyah Cua, of Bristol High School, first; $75 prize; Trey Yoho of LaBrae High School, second, $50 prize.
