Baby-sitting class

BOARDMAN — The Mahoning Chapter of the American Red Cross, 8392 Tod Ave., is offering a baby-sitting class this summer.

The course fee, $35, helps to support disaster services in our area and teaches 11- to 15-year-old boys and girls everything from basic care and feeding to first aid, choking rescues, rescue breathing and when to call for help. They also learn how to behave if a stranger calls, what to do if a child gets sick, and how to be responsible when they are in charge.

The Red Cross “School’s Out” classes are already scheduled at several locations throughout Mahoning County. Call the chapter or go online to register for any of these opportunities. Classes will be June 13, Aug. 8 and Sept. 12.

This course comes with extras for graduates including pen, date book, business cards and Red Cross certified T-shirt.

Call (330) 726-6063 or go to www.mahoning.redcross.org to register. Families of military personnel should call for special information.
