HUBBARD

May 31

Theft: Someone broke into a vehicle in the 800 block of North Main Street and took a purse and other items.

Theft: A power washer was removed from a residence in the 100 block of Erie Street.

Menacing: An East Liberty Street woman called 911 to report her son had threatened to kill her.

June 2

Recovered property: A bicycle that a Hubbard man had reported stolen was found near Valley Drive.

Theft: A bicycle was stolen from a home in the 40 block of East Park Avenue.

Assault: A woman reported juveniles rode by on bicycles and shot a 5-year-old boy with a BB.

June 3

Arrest: Mahoning County jail officials were to release a Hubbard man wanted on a warrant from the Girard Municipal Court charging him with failure to appear for trial.

Theft: A Princeton Avenue woman discovered money missing from her bank account.

LIBERTY

May 29

Theft: A surveillance camera showed a man entering a Belmont Avenue business and carrying away a backpack that belonged to a worker there.

Breaking and entering: Someone forced open a door, then entered Gary’s Appliances Inc., 5140 Belmont Ave. Stolen were several wrenches, four paint spray guns, a buffer and other items, for a $2,000 loss.

Aggravated menacing: A man at a James Lane residence told police someone had threatened to kill him.

May 30

Arrest: Weathersfield police handed a 40-year-old Niles man wanted on a warrant to Liberty authorities.

Arrest: Officers picked up a 31-year-old New Castle, Pa., man on state Route 193. He was wanted on a warrant from the township.

Domestic violence: A township woman, 53, was charged after police responded to a situation at a Northview Boulevard residence and were met by a man with a bloody face and puncture wounds to the right forearm. The accuser alleged his girlfriend had punched him in the face and head during an argument.

May 31

Theft by deception: A Sampson Drive woman checked her account online and noticed multiple unauthorized charges totaling between $500 and $700.

June 1

Theft: The driver of a silver Cadillac pumped $28 worth of gasoline and left a BP/Unimart station, 2703 Belmont Ave., without paying.

Arrest: Authorities responded to possible drug activity in the 1600 block of West Montrose Avenue, where they took into custody a 54-year-old Youngstown man. He was charged with failure to appear in court.

June 2

Arrest: A township man, 41, faced charges of failure to comply with police, driving under suspension and other traffic offenses when, officers said, he initially refused to pull over for authorities.

June 3

Arrest: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to a 26-year-old Girard woman’s arrest on a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments when, police said, three syringes were found.

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 36, wanted by U.S. marshals on a parole violation was pulled over near Logan Way and taken into custody. The original charge was possession of a weapon.

Theft: Fifty prescription pills were stolen from a home in the 10 block of Holly Drive.

GIRARD

June 1

Menacing: A St. Clair Avenue man reported four male teens covered his parents’ vehicle with cookie pieces, and possibly urinated on the car, as part of a pattern of harassment.

June 2

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s front window was broken at a West Liberty Street business.

Possible arson: Authorities received a report that two cars had exploded near South Lorain Avenue and Amherst Drive and found in the 100 block of South Lorain a vehicle engulfed in flames.

June 3

Menacing: A Girard man told police a woman threatened him over money she said he owes her.

Menacing: A Girard man waiting at a red light near Trumbull Avenue reported a man in another vehicle threatened to kill the accuser, then tried to run him off the road.

Criminal mischief: Someone vandalized a van by flattening two of its tires in the 400 block of Joan Avenue.

Fraud: A Patricia Drive woman discovered two checks were written for a total of $640, causing her account to be overdrawn.
