Mineral Ridge's Skiba wins Div. III long jump title

Mineral Ridge sophomore Dan Skiba was a surprise state champion in the Division III long jump on Friday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Skiba jumped 22 feet, 10 3/4 inches — nearly a foot longer than his previous best — to capture the Valley's third state title. He joins United senior Victoria Bates (Div. II discus) and Crestview senior Jakob Leon (Div. III high jump).
