Kaluza benefit set at Handel's
YOUNGSTOWN — Area Handel’s Ice Cream stores will be donating proceeds from the sale of “Youngstown’s All Heart” flavored ice cream this weekend to benefit the Joe Kaluza family.
The funds will be used to offset the staggering medical bills Kaluza is incurring daily since he was shot and left paralyzed from the neck down during a robbery in March 2008. Kaluza is a former KFC manager.
It has been a year since Handel’s launched this special flavor ice cream.
The fundraising campaign is called “Youngstown’s All Heart.” By donating $2 to the campaign, recipients get a red bracelet to show they have supported someone who needs help.
