Councilman, Crime Stoppers offer reward to solve North Side burglaries

YOUNGSTOWN — Councilman Jamael Tito Brown, D-3rd, and Youngstown Police Crime Stoppers are asking for citizens’ help in solving a rash of burglaries that have occurred on the North Side recently.

Police Chief Jimmy Hughes says a reward is being offered for people providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible.

Citizens are asked to call Youngstown Crime Stoppers at (330) 746-CLUE with the information.

Citizens are asked to record license plate numbers and vehicle descriptions of suspicious vehicles that are spotted in the neighborhood and report them to Crime Stoppers.

Hughes said citizens should turn on their porch and exterior lights, ask a friend or relative to watch their home and pick up mail if they are going to be gone an extended period of time and make sure all windows and doors are locked before leaving home.
