WARREN — Students traded their pens and pencils for the putter Thursday.

Fourth-grade students at C.H. Campbell Elementary School in Canfeld participated in an all-day miniature-golf outing.

The class played at the Putt Putt & Batting Cages on U.S. Route 422 in Warren as part of end-of-the- year festivities.

The 54-hole facility has three courses.

The outing is one of the multiple events the school is having as part of the last two weeks of school.

On Tuesday, students from C.H. Campbell and Hillltop Elementary schools will participate in a joint fourth-grade field day at Canfield High School.

C.H. Campbell Principal Kent Polen had said the outing was to reward students for a year’s worth of hard work in the classroom.

The outing also was a way to allow kids to have some fun before they leave the school, he said.

The students’ last day at C.H. Campbell is Wednesday.
