Barefoot Sunday is charitable event

NORTH CANTON — On Sunday, hundreds of congregations across North America will be participating in “Barefoot Sunday,” a day when people leave their shoes at the altar to be donated to the poor and walk out of worship services barefoot.

The shoes will be collected through June 14 by John Knox Presbyterian Church, 5155 Eastlake St. NW, North Canton, and donated to Soles4Souls, a simple mission to collect new and gently worn shoes for victims of natural disasters or those living in poverty.
