• NARFE Chapter 14 invites all current and retired federal employees and their spouses to a meeting and luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road. This is the last meeting before the summer break. Plan to attend.

• The McDonald Sideliners will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Blue Devil Room at the high school.

• Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following meetings: Fancy Cutters meet at 10 a.m. Monday at Lake Vista, 303 N. Mecca St., Cortland, for a buttonhole placement demonstration by Ruth Smith and Jennie Roberts; Evening Cut Ups meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Grace Church of Nazarene, 5253 W. Webb, Austintown, to work with beginner sewers on making shorts; and Designing Women Machine Embroidery Group to meet at 10 a.m. June 12 at Domestic Sewing, 2011 Youngstown SE, Warren, for instructions on combining designs.
• Western Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield for a review of ways to dye yarn. There is no homework.
