Criminal mischief: Plants were destroyed in a yard in the 400 block of Wildwood Drive.

Criminal damaging: Someone in a vehicle damaged a plastic mailbox in the 200 block of Boardman Boulevard.

Counterfeit: A phony $100 bill was presented at a BP/Unimart gas station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Criminal mischief: Someone tossed eggs and several times struck a home in the 3900 block of Stratmore Avenue.

Theft: A $70 wooden bench was taken from a residence in the 600 block of Pierce Drive.

Theft: Three pieces of patio furniture were removed from a home in the 4100 block of Shelby Road.

Theft: Someone stole a $5,200 dog from Petland, 7338 Market St.

Theft: A $149 cell phone was stolen from someone at a Boardman-Poland Road business.

Identity theft: A Lockwood Boulevard man found out someone used his Social Security number to open a credit-card account without authorization.

Criminal damaging: Three windows were broken at a residence in the 3900 block of Sunset Boulevard.

Criminal damaging: A Youngstown man, 22, was charged after a vehicle’s passenger-side window had been broken in the 6600 block of Southern Boulevard. He also was wanted on a felony warrant and faced a misdemeanor drug charge.

Menacing: A 28-year-old township woman faced a charge after a neighbor alleged the woman had threatened to beat her up as the accuser walked her dog.

Assault: Police responded to a fight at a festival on U.S. Route 224 and charged a Youngstown man, 18, with assault, resisting arrest, trafficking in drugs and disorderly conduct. The teen had a bag of suspected marijuana packaged in smaller bags, and officers had to use a Taser to get him under control, a report said.

June 1

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s passenger-side window was broken at a Boardman-Canfield Road business, resulting in a $250 damage estimate.

Theft: A woman told police that after returning two phones to a Southern Park Mall store, she still received a $624 bill. Apparently, someone had stolen and used phone cards in her name, a report said.

Drug paraphernalia: A 28-year-old Boardman man was charged after police used a search warrant at a residence in the 4000 block of South Avenue. Two crack pipes and other suspected drug-related items were found, officers said.

Arrest: A township man, 27, who agreed to be interviewed by police for an investigation was arrested on a warrant charging him with telecommunications harassment.

Drugs: Police, with help from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, picked up a 33-year-old Youngstown man on a felony warrant from the township charging him with theft of a dangerous drug.

Theft: A male took three packages of batteries from Dollar General, 4028 Market St.

Theft/vandalism: Electrical equipment was stolen from a business in the 200 block of Boardman-Canfield Road, and wiring had been damaged.

Theft: Several food items, a piece of jewelry and $150 were removed from a Willow Drive apartment.

Vandalism: Someone painted graffiti on a building in the 6000 block of Market Street.

Theft: A car in the 8200 block of Market Street had stolen from it two amplifiers, two 12-inch subwoofers and an in-dash TV.

June 2

Domestic violence: A 17-year-old Boardman boy was charged, accused of punching his stepfather in the face during an argument and causing a minor injury.

Burglary: To a home in the 4800 block of Hopkins Road, where five wristwatches, jewelry and $650 were taken.

Theft: A 26-year-old Columbiana woman was accused of taking $160 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. She also was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments.

Criminal mischief: Someone stuffed a dead animal into a mailbox in the 6800 block of Tanglewood Drive.

Theft: A gas-powered blower was stolen from the bed of a truck at a Southern Boulevard store.

Domestic violence: A 39-year-old Blacklick, Ohio, man was booked on a warrant from Boardman charging him. Earlier, a township woman said he threatened over the phone to kill her.

Criminal damaging: A lamppost was damaged in the front yard of a Carter Circle residence.

Burglary: To a residence in the 400 block of Meadowbrook Avenue.

June 3

Arrest: A 46-year-old city woman was taken into custody near South Avenue on a warrant from Campbell charging her with wrongful entrustment, a misdemeanor.

Theft by deception: A Niles man, 46, was booked at the Mahoning County Jail on two felony counts after two township women reported having made partial down payments to have their patios replaced, and learning the work had never been done.

Fraud: A Beechwood Drive man said he lost $2,375 in what he believes was an international scam.

Theft: A $300 front wheel and tire was stolen off a vehicle in the 6800 block of Lockwood Boulevard.

Theft: The driver of a company-owned van at a Southern Boulevard store returned to find an air tank and a tool missing.

Theft: Someone removed a $4,500 chain-link fence from an apartment complex in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue.

Theft: A 23-year-old Hobart, Ind., woman faced three counts, accused of stealing clothing from Macy’s, Sears and the J.C. Penney store, all in the Southern Park Mall.

Arrest: Authorities went to a residence in the 4100 block of Hillman Way to serve a warrant against a 55-year-old township man, who also was charged with resisting arrest when, police said, he became combative.

Breaking and entering: A garage was entered in the 60 block of Prestwick Drive. Stolen was a $350 snowblower.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 30, faced charges of theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia after $25 worth of clothing had been stolen from Wal-Mart. She also had five syringes and two suspected crack pipes, police said.
