MetroParks concert lineup will feature Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

THE VINDICATOR

YOUNGSTOWN — Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the retro-contemporary swing band, will highlight the Mill Creek MetroParks 2009 7UP Summerfest concert series at the Judge Morley Pavilion.

The band will perform at 7 p.m. July 19. The last time Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was in Youngstown was Oct. 29, 2007, when it took the stage at Powers Auditorium for a dual concert with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.

Fresh off of appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and “Dancing with the Stars,” Voodoo Daddy will present a show titled “How Big Can You Get – 100 Years of Cab Calloway.”

All Summerfest events are free and begin at 7 p.m., with the exception of the July 26 Aftermath concert, which will start at 5:30 p.m. Aftermath is a ’60s British Invasion-style tribute band.

The public is invited to picnic on the lawn. All events are alcohol-free.

The Morley Pavilion is a rustic, open-air facility, located next to the Wick Recreation area, off McCollum Road on the West Side. The lawn can accommodate up to 6,000 people.
