Treasurer Boyce to speak at McGuffey Centre event

YOUNGSTOWN — Associated Neighborhood Centers will have an annual meeting at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the McGuffey Centre’s banquet facility on Jacobs Road. Ohio Treasurer of State Kevin L. Boyce will be the keynote speaker.

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland named Boyce, 37, to replace Treasurer Richard Cordray, who was elected Ohio attorney general.

Boyce’s appearance Friday will be his first to the historic McGuffey Centre.

The annual meeting is a fundraising and recognition service. Those attending will also enjoy a membership kickoff and silent auction before dinner is served at 6 p.m. Volunteers will be recognized later in the evening.
