Gurgovits returns as president, chief executive of F.N.B. Corp.

HERMITAGE, Pa. — Stephen Gurgovits is returning as president and chief executive of F.N.B. Corp.

The parent company of First National Bank of Pennsylvania said today that it has completed a search for a new top executive and decided to go with its chairman of the board.

Gurgovits had been a longtime executive at the company and was its top official until he retired last year. Bob New was named to replace him, but he resigned this past February. Gurgovits had taken over as interim CEO.

Gurgovits was named president of First National Bank in 1988 and then became president of the holding company in 2004.

He had been serving as interim CEO.
