Garden Forum show ranks those with flower power

YOUNGSTOWN — Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown had its spring flower show May 16 and 17 at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.

The flower show was open to the public. Blue ribbons in horticulture were won by the following:

•Hugh Earnhart, Lynn Hoffman, Bill McPherson, and Stan Vuletich — Men’s Garden Club.

•Peggy Potts — Johnny Appleseed.

•Anne Ellis, Rose Mary Fuller, Dianna Mullins, Martha Murphy and Sheila Bowman — Nature Lovers.

•Millie Campean, Joyce Dunbar, Pearl Marlos and Rose Marie Roth — Gleaners.

•Mary Schall — Austintown Garden Club.

•Beverly Patrick, Linda Vuletich — Ikebana.

•Susie Cochran — East Liverpool-Calcutta.

•Dorothy Haddox — Our Lady of Fatima.

•Debra Werner — Hubbard.

•Beverly Italiano and Roxanne Macynski — Public.

Blue Ribbons in design were won by:

•Marlos and Dunbar — Gleaners.

•Ellis — Nature Lovers.

•Stan Vuletich — Men’s Garden Club.

•Shirley Wigginton — Town and Country.

Special awards in design went to Marlos.

Speicial awards in horticulture went to Mullins, Cochran, Marlos and Haddox.

Judges for the show were Bowman, Campean and Elsie DeHoff.
