TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Stephen Cardullo set a tournament record with seven hits, including three of Florida State’s NCAA-record 15 doubles, as the Seminoles routed Ohio State 37-6 on Sunday and advanced to the super regionals.

Florida State (45-16) set NCAA postseason records with 37 runs, 38 hits and 66 total bases, while Cardullo set the school mark for hits in an offensive performance the football team would’ve been proud of.

Jason Stidham, the regional’s most outstanding player, hit a two-run double as the Seminoles scored eight times in the first and cruised past the pitching-depleted Buckeyes (42-19), who trailed 32-0 in the fifth.

Florida State will make its ninth super regional appearance in 11 years against the Norman Regional winner.

Ohio State 13, Georgia 6

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In an earlier game, Ohio State made all the timely plays to eliminate Georgia.

The Buckeyes got a pair of home runs from Michael Stephens, including a three-run blast that highlighted a game-breaking, six-run, seventh inning.

Ohio State closer Jake Hale came on for Drew Rucinski in the seventh to preserve a 7-5 lead. Hale struck out Georgia slugger Rich Poythress with runners at first and third and got a groundout to escape the jam.

“We had our guy up with runners on the corners and their guy, Jake Hale, did a better job,” Georgia coach Dave Perno said. “When he struck Poythress out, I thought the game switched at that time. Youve got to win those types of moments in these kind of games and we didnt do that.”

Hale struck out six in a season-high 22‚Ñ3 innings for his 18th save, while Rucinski (12-2) picked up the victory, all in relief.

Zach Cone homered in his first two at-bats as the second-seeded Bulldogs (38-24), who played for the 2008 College World Series championship, built a 5-0 lead that they could not hold.

Oral Roberts 15, Kent St. 10

TEMPE, Ariz. — Michael Notaro drove in three runs and hit one of Oral Roberts’ five homers as the Golden Eagles beat Kent State 15-10 in an elimination game Sunday.

Oral Roberts (33-14) advanced to Sunday night’s game against Arizona State (46-12), which could earn a berth in next weekend’s super regional with a victory.

Oral Roberts trailed 3-1 before rallying for nine runs in the fourth inning. Notaro, who hit a solo homer in the second inning, had a two-run double and P. J. Sequeria added a two-run homer.

Kyle Price, Juan Martinez and Seth Furmanek all homered to put the Eagles up 15-3 in the fifth.
