POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

July 16

Theft: A woman who lives in the 60 block of West Main Street told police two stunt bicycles were stolen from her home.

July 17

Drug abuse: Police arrested a 21-year-old Washington, Pa., man on North Broad Street and charged him with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after police found in his possession a suspected marijuana cigarette and a wooden pipe with suspected marijuana residue.

July 20

Theft: A black Palm Centro cell phone valued at $250 was stolen from the ladies room at Get Go Gas Station, 375 E. Main St., after a woman forgot she left the phone there.

July 22

Forged checks: A West Main Street business reported that someone was manufacturing checks to duplicate its bank and checking and routing numbers. The matter is under investigation.

July 23

Theft: A Garmin GPS device was stolen from a vehicle in a carport on North Broad Street.

AUSTINTOWN

July 20

Assault: A fist fight between two women in the parking lot at The Wedge, 1743 S. Raccoon Road, was stopped by police, who took a report from a woman who said the other woman came at her, assaulted her and knocked her to the ground.

Burglary: A four-wheeler was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Lake Road.

Breaking and entering: A garage was broken into at a home in the 500 block of North Four Mile Run Road and stolen were two four-wheelers, a pit bike and miscellaneous tools.

Theft: A laptop computer was not given back at Bits, Bytes and Pieces, 5462 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: A charge of about $250 was made to a bank account using a debit-card number, but a product purchased was never delivered to a homeowner in the 3000 block of Nottingham Drive.

Criminal mischief: Eggs were thrown at a car at home in the 4000 block of Westmont Drive.

July 21

Theft: A 2008 Hybrid 250 all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a trailer next to a home in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.

July 22

Theft: Police issued summonses to two 18-year-old males for theft at Denny’s Restaurant, 4927 Mahoning Ave., for ordering a meal and having no way to pay for it.

Burglary: A residence was entered in the 3000 block of Avalon Court.

Lost or stolen wallet: A wallet was reported missing at Eat-N-Park Restaurant, 5459 Mahoning Ave.

Lost or stolen passport: A resident of Westgate Motel, 4493 Mahoning Ave., reported his passport was thrown away after he gave it as collateral for his room charge.

Theft: A woman was arrested for theft of $84.77 in merchandise at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Recovered property: The contents of a wallet were recovered at Mahoning Avenue and DeHoff Drive.

July 23

Criminal trespassing: Police issued a woman a summons for criminal trespassing at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a man a summons for disorderly conduct at Perkins Restaurant, 5550 Interstate Blvd.

Breaking and entering: A computer and an undetermined amount of cash were stolen at Impact, 3718 Mahoning Ave.

Identity theft: An unauthorized bank account was opened at Wachovia Bank in a woman’s married name, which she no longer uses. The woman lives in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Theft: A man was arrested for theft at Wal-Mart and released on a summons.

Theft: A man is a suspect of theft at a home in the 3000 block of Orchard Hill Drive.

Drug offense: An Austintown woman was issued a summons for drug abuse of marijuana at Cavalcade and Bexley drives.

Burglary: A 32-inch television, an Xbox 360 and games were stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

July 24

Theft: Items were stolen from an auto at a home in the 5000 block of Winslow Drive and later recovered.

Theft: Cash was stolen at I-80 Video, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.

Telecommunications harassment: A juvenile caller was making harassing phone calls to a home in the 2000 block of Breezewood.

Lost or stolen: A dealer plate was lost or stolen.

Theft: Cash and an Ipod were stolen from an auto at a home in the 5000 block of Pine Shadow Court.

Telecommunications harassment: A woman is a suspect in making harassing phone calls to 2 homes in the 3000 block of Burkey Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Jeremiah Bullfrog’s, 5529 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A man is accused in a theft at a home in the 3000 block of South Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: There are four male suspects in damage done to a door, table and siding at a home in the 1000 block of Maple Trace Court.

Burglary: A burglary was reported at a home in the 200 block of Marcia Drive.

July 25

Weapons offense: Two firearms were recovered during a traffic stop and were later determined to be stolen at state Route 11 and Interstate 80.

Criminal damaging: Two windows were broken at Four’s Company, 3730 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: A Honda motorcycle was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Bexley Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A brick mailbox was damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Fitzgerald Avenue.

Attempted theft: A trailer lock was pried off at a home in the 1000 block of Bexley Drive.

Theft: A wallet was stolen from an apartment in the 10 block of N. Raccoon Road. A debit card was later used to charge $25 at Circus K.

July 26

Assault: Police arrested a man for assault at The Wedge, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Weapons offense: Police arrested a man for possession of a firearm at The Wedge.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to a man for possession of suspected marijuana at Get-Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: A man was accused of assault at a home in the 2100 block of Aldrich Drive.

Theft: Windows were damaged on an auto, and speakers were taken at Flynn’s Tire, 4985 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal mischief: Chalk marks were left on tables and the parking lot at the pavilion at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.

Criminal damaging: Resin tables were damaged at the Four Seasons, 4222 New Road.

Theft: A bicycle was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Aggravated menacing: A suspect of menacing had a gun pointed at him at Deer Creek apartments in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.
