Youngstown to pay $200K to help stabilize residential neighborhoods

YOUNGSTOWN — The city will pay a newly formed community development corporation $200,000 to help stabilize residential neighborhoods.

The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. will concentrate on returning unkempt and unusable vacant residential properties into usable space, enlisting the help of neighborhood residents in that process.

The Youngstown Board of Control — Mayor Jay Williams, Finance Director David Bozanich and Law Director Iris Torres Guglucello — approved the agreement today.

The corporation also has received funding from the Wean Foundation for the effort.
