Pittsburgh cops probing dogfighting evidence

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police are trying to determine if people were staging dogfights at a home where one pit bull was found dead in a closet and several others appeared to show signs of having fought.

Police say three people at the home in the city’s high-crime Larimer neighborhood were questioned after police were called to the home Wednesday night. But by today, no charges had been filed in the case.

Police say they were called to the house by neighbors complaining about dogs barking and possibly being made to fight.

Police found nine pit bulls chained in a yard and three more in crates. The dead dog was found in a closet, and police say there were blood stains on the basement floor.
