Pa. man pleads no contest in Cedar Point bomb scare

SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — A Pennsylvania man accused in a bomb scare at an Ohio amusement park has pleaded no contest to inducing panic.

Police at Cedar Point here accused Kelly Albrecht, 27, of Cranberry Township, Pa., of leaving a fake bomb under his car at the park July 17. A bomb squad destroyed the device, which turned out to be harmless. Albrecht was arrested when he returned to his vehicle.

If convicted of the misdemeanor charge, he faces up to six months in jail.

The park has not said much about the device, though one police official said it contained wiring.

Cedar Point police Chief Ray Majoy says Albrecht has been cooperative.
