Hospital fundraiser to feature dinner, dance

SALEM — The Saxon Club, 1980 Newgarden Road, will be the setting Aug. 8 for the Ohio Valley Sound of Hope dinner, dance and Chinese auction.

The dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m., and dancing will be from 7 to midnight.

The goal of the event is to raise funds and music for patients at Akron Children’s Hospital in Mahoning Valley.

Admission is $15 per person, or $12 and a donation of a new music CD. The CDs will be compiled into a music library to be presented to the Child Life Department at the hospital for use on the patient floors, in the emergency department and in the blood and cancer center.
