Kennel club makes donation to Second Harvest Food Bank to help feed pets

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning-Shenango Kennel Club delivered $1,000 worth of dog food to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley for distribution to families that are struggling to feed their pets.

Tyne Horvath with the kennel vlub said, “Hopefully, this donation will help prevent dogs from being abandoned or sent to a shelter.”

The dog food was purchased at Rogers Feed Mill, which offered a discount to the club, delivered the food to the food bank free of charge, and donated an additional 23 bags of food.

Second Harvest distributes food to 155 hunger relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
