A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

July 24

Burglary: A residence in the 5200 block of Center Road, at which a Sony PlayStation 3 game console was stolen.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on Quarry Road resulted in a 19-year-old New Middletown man being charged when, police said, a suspected marijuana pipe was found.

July 26

Theft: A $150 satellite radio was stolen from a car parked in the 2800 block of Highland Avenue.

BOARDMAN

July 24

Attempted assault: A Runnemede Drive woman told police two male teens drove by her home and tossed three aerosol cans at her, though she was not struck.

Criminal damaging: A large scratch was made on a vehicle in the 20 block of Beechwood Drive.

Fraud: A township man reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be with a car dealership who said a transaction the man had made could not be completed. The person was trying to gain the accuser’s credit-card account information, he told authorities.

Theft: A pressure washer was taken from a home in the 7200 block of Vineland Place.

Theft: Numerous items, including credit cards and $200, were removed from a vehicle parked in the 1600 block of Bluebell Trail.

Domestic violence: A township man, 27, surrendered to authorities on a felony charge after a woman alleged he had tried to break her wrists and threatened to slit her throat during an argument about her pregnancy.

Theft: A wallet was taken from a truck in the 1300 block of Meadowood Drive.

Criminal mischief: Someone placed an “out of order” sign over a functioning camera near an automated-teller machine at a Market Street bank.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen as she shopped at a Boardman-Poland Road store.

Theft: A $400 mountain bike was removed from a residence in the 20 block of Arlene Avenue.

July 25

Burglary: Someone entered then placed two large holes in walls at a Carter Circle apartment.

Theft: A $400 driver’s-side mirror was stolen off a vehicle parked on Red Grouse Court.

Attempted breaking and entering: Someone tried to break into a Bev Road business via a side door.

Attempted burglary: Several pry marks were found on a door to a Green Bay Drive apartment, apparently the result of someone’s having tried to enter.

Criminal damaging: A Youngstown woman, 29, was pulled over near Newton Avenue and taken into custody when police learned she was wanted on a warrant from Austintown.

Theft: A male in blue jeans and a blue and white sweater fled Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, after stealing $71 worth of clothing.

Theft: A 36-year-old Boardman woman was charged after a picture frame, a necklace and a jacket were stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Domestic violence: A 47-year-old township man surrendered and was charged. Earlier, the man’s wife alleged he had grabbed her by the hair, slammed her to the floor and tossed her to the ground.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 23, was arrested, accused by police of deliberately failing to scan $20 worth of clothing and makeup at Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A 27-year-old man and a woman, 28, both of Chester, W.Va., faced charges after nine items valued at a total of nearly $60 were taken from Wal-Mart.

Theft: Two Youngstown women, 28 and 33, faced charges in the theft of $651 worth of clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 4100 block of Lockwood Boulevard sustained $475 worth of damage after its driver’s-side mirror was broken and a driver’s-side door was dented.

Theft: A total of $495 worth of clothing was taken from Macy’s, resulting in charges against two 18-year-old Youngstown women.

Theft: A Southern Boulevard man reported the theft of an $800 laptop computer and an electronic organizer device from his wife’s vehicle.

Theft/damage: Someone took $20 from a car after having broken a driver’s-side window in the 1300 block of Meadowood Circle.

July 26

Deception: A worker for Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd., reported two people tried to pass a bogus prescription to obtain 60 Percocet pills.

Menacing: An Applecrest Court woman told police another female threatened to come to the accuser’s residence and harm her.

Drug paraphernalia: A township woman, 45, was cited during a traffic stop near Southern Boulevard. A pipe with suspected marijuana residue was found, a report said.

Theft: A cell phone and a $200 global positioning system unit were removed from a car in the 7500 block of Huntington Drive.

Criminal mischief: Someone shoved a slice of bread into a rental car’s tailpipe and smeared ice cream on its windshield in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.

Theft: A 20-year-old Slippery Rock, Pa., woman was charged in the theft of $166 worth of jewelry from Macy’s.

Criminal damaging: A car’s rear window was smashed in the 700 block of Annawan Lane.

Vandalism: Someone tossed two bricks, damaging a vehicle’s driver’s-side mirror and window, in the 100 block of Alburn Drive.

Theft: A woman patronizing a Doral Drive store discovered her wallet missing.
