Kennehans host family for their 60th anniversary


YOUNGSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. William Kennehan of Youngstown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary as they hosted their family for a party July 12 at their home on the West Side.

Family members in attendance were three of the couple’s six children and their spouses: Linda and Mark Mikula, and James and Rita Kennehan, all of Austintown; and Ronald and Joanne Kennehan of Berlin Center. Also attending were grandchildren Karen, James Jr., Heather, Eric, and Colleen Kennehan; Nicholas and Dominic Mikula; Brie Schreiber; and Janet and Michael Vlaiku; and great-grandson Michael Thomas Vlaiku. Unable to attend were the couple’s children Richard Kennehan, Carol Riggins, and Jean Kennehan; their grandson Marty Martini, their granddaughter and her husband, Michelle and Sean Lemaster, and their great-grandchildren Kayla and Ashlyn Lemaster.

On July 9, 1949, Mr. Kennehan and Emelia Anne Whalen were joined in marriage at St. Joseph Church in Sharon, Pa. They are members of St. Brendan Church.

Mrs. Kennehan, a homemaker, belongs to St. Brendan’s Altar and Rosary Society. Mr. Kennehan retired as a yard conductor in 1989 after 38 years of employment at Conrail. He was a member of the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II.
