Astro Falcons edge 1080 Media in NABF


STRUTHERS — Trent Vallinger threw out Brad Byers at the plate with the potential tying run to end the game as the Astro Falcons defeated 1080 Media, 2-1, in a NABF Senior Regional baseball game at Cene Park on Friday night.

Jared Turocy tossed a complete game with six strikeouts for the win.

Shane Wagner added two hits for the Falcons.

Evan Campbell and Anthony Raschilla had two hits for 1080.

With Astro leading 2-0, Nick Crum started off the seventh reaching on a hit batter. A walk to Byers put runners on first and second. Turocy then retired the next two batters before Campbell singled home the first run. Raschilla then singled to center and Vallinger fired to Mike Natale at the plate to retire Byers ending the game.

Ohio Yankees 5, Rondinelli Tuxedo 3

Forrest Johnson had a pair of doubles and a triple and drove home three runs for Ohio Yankees.

Taylor Paridon went six plus innings for the win, striking out eight.

Erick Locker tossed a perfect seventh inning with a pair of strikeouts for the save.

Tony Calabrese added two hits for the winners.

Phil Lipari had a pair of hits, and Jason Bagoly drove home three runs for Rondinelli.

NABF Junior Regional

Rondinelli Tuxedo used an eight-run second inning to stay alive as they defeated Stars Baseball, 10-8.

Josh Davis had a pair of doubles and drove home two runs, while Joe Livi, Zach Chapin, and John Fithian added two hits each for Rondinelli.

Hank Schlueter struckout eight in five innings for the win with Danny Reese picking up the save.

Dave Nowak had three hits for the Stars, while Tony Connacher and Kolin McMillen added two hits each.

North Coast Vipers 4, Roth Brothers 2

Brandon Grunda had just one strikeout but did not walk a batter as the Vipers used a three run-fifth to hold off a seventh inning rally by Roth.

Jake Neuschaefer had two hits for the winners.

Adam Robb had three hits, two of them doubles, whileTyler Blangero added a pair of singles for Roth who had the tying runs on base in the seventh.

G.J. Senchak allowed just one earned run as four Roth errors led to three unearned tallies.

Toronto Mets 12, Astro Falcons 0

Brian Smith allowed only a leadoff single to Sutton Whiting in the bottom of the fourth inning, and struck out 17 for Toronto Mets.

Smith walked two while Connor Panas had two triples and drove home three runs for the Mets. Michael Foster and Gabe Mark also had two hits for the winners.

COLT Region

Action Physical Therapy scored three times in the bottom of the seventh to move into the winners bracket final with a 13-12 win over Kiski (Pa.).

Rick Yauger and Shane Brown had three hits each, while Kory Hopkinson, Mike Werner and Mike Riffe added two each for the winners.

Colton Greathouse went 4 1/3 innings in relief for the win, striking out four.

Matt Wolezko and Chris Zaccagnini had three hits each, and Zach Komoroski, Sean George, Nate Stolarski, and Doug Donatelli added two each for Kiski.

Yauger drove home the game-winner with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh.

Seneca Valley 7, 1080 Media 4

Seneca Valley pounded out 13 hits and moved into the winners bracket final.

Paul Krevokuch had three hits, while Kyle Gorniak, Tyler Budisky, Kevin Patsullvas, and Den Krevokuch had two hits each for the winners.

Michael Watson had a single, double, and a triple, and Ryan Trimbur added two hits for 1080 Media.

1080 Media 7, Hagerstown (Md.) 6

1080 Media rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth and Pat Rhodes and Mike Watson shut down Hagerstown over the final three innings.

Tim Cheslik had a pair of hits, while Austin Creer drove home a pair of runs for the winners.

Rhodes struck out two in his two innings of relief for the win, while Watson struck out a pair in his one inning for the save.

Josh Short had three hits, while Jack Schwartz and Ryan Sword added two each for Hagerstown.

Chambersburg (Pa.) 10, Tri-T American 7

Anthony Jacoby and Dustin Shauf had two hits each while Tanner Shoop went the first three innings on the mound for the win, striking out five.

Anthony Clinkscale had two hits, while Brock Grafton had a pair of runs batted in for Tri-T American.

Action Physical Therapy 13, Washington (Pa.) 6

Action scored six times in the fifth inning. Cory Kirk and Shane Brown drove home three runs each, while Brad Kelly went 4 2/3 innings for the win.

Jason Poland drove home a pair of runs for Washington with a double.
