CAMPBELL — Police arrested a man who is charged with vehicular homicide and aggravated-vehicular assault in a July 11 car accident.

Scott Johnson, 37, of Ascot Court, Youngstown, had been hospitalized after the accident. He was speeding on Robinson Road when he lost control of his car on a hill and a curve and hit the side wall of the Ultimate Club, police said.

Killed in the accident was front-seat passenger Robert L. Killing Jr., 52, of Henn-Hyde Road, Howland.

Rear-seat passenger Craig J. Davis, 24, of North Salem Warren Road, North Jackson, was injured.

Johnson had refused a voluntary drug-and-alcohol test at St. Elizabeth Health Center after the accident, police said.

After a detectives’ investigation and the results of a toxicology report from the hospital, he faces a charge of driving under the influence of narcotics, police said. He also is charged with driving with a suspended license and reckless operation.

U.S. marshals arrested Johnson at his home Wednesday, and he was in the city jail here Thursday. His arraignment was set for this morning in municipal court.
