Fairgrounds get in gear for Truck and Jeep Fest

CANFIELD — It’s not quite fair time, but the Canfield Fairgrounds will be crawling with people and vehicles this weekend.

The third annual Truck and Jeep Fest runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets at the gate are $16 for adults and $9 for children age 3 to 12. Two-day passes can be purchased for $24 each.

The event will feature side-by-side drag racing among five of the nation’s top touring monster trucks in front of the Canfield Fairgrounds’ grandstand. Saturday at 1 and 6 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m., Bounty Hunter, Bigfoot, Big Dawg, TailGator and the 4 Wheel Parts Monster Truck will be matched side-by-side and then in an axle-wrenching “freestyle” competition.

Other featured events include Sergeant Smash monster-truck rides Saturday and Sunday beginning at 9 a.m., the Miss Truck and Jeep Fest contest Sunday at 2 p.m. and a Rock Crawl Challenge showcasing vehicles from all over the country that compete on specially designed rock-crawl obstacle courses.

The Family Fun Zone will give parents a place to let their youngsters play and even compete for medals in games staged throughout the weekend, such as tug of war and a bag toss.

More than 130 vendors and top manufacturers with be on hand with factory-direct pricing and on-site inventory. On-site tire mounts and balances also will be offered to patrons who purchase sets of tires and wheels at the show.
