Reunion events await Boardman Class of '59


BOARDMAN — Boardman High School Class of 1959 reunion committee has completed its planning for the 50th reunion, which will take place Aug. 14 through Aug. 16.

The cost is determined by the events attended. The plan for the weekend of events follows:

• Aug. 14, golf: Times are reserved for four foursomes beginning at 11 a.m. at Tippecanoe Country Club. Costs will be $66 per person, including cart, and payment will be credit card only at the country club. Contact Lloyd Murray at (330) 726-8338 or Cliff Green at (330) 758-2152 if you have questions.

• Aug. 14, cocktail party: A cash bar will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. The theme will be the 1950s, and all are encouraged to dress the way they did in high school. Call Becky (Hribko) Zenko at (330) 637-1611 if you have questions.

• Aug. 15, tours: Those interested in touring the old high school will meet at 10 a.m., door No. 1, by the band room and archway. No need for reservations. Let the committee know if you need a ride. Contact Tom Lance (239) 877-2809 with questions.

• Aug. 15, golf: Times are reserved at Mill Creek Golf Course, with starting times at 7 a.m. Cost will be $32 per person; call Murray or Green with questions.

• Aug. 15, picnic: A tent is being put up at Mill Creek Golf Course for a picnic, which will begin around noon so the classmates on the tours and the golfers can attend. The picnic is free. Call Murray or Green with questions.

• Aug. 15, dinner: Tippecanoe Country Club will host a dinner, and the cost will be $50 per person with a cash bar. The evening will include dinner, special festivities and entertainment by “Tune Weavers Disc Jockey Service,” which specializes in ’50s music. Tippecanoe requires men to wear dress jackets.
