BOARDMAN — Police Chief Patrick Berarducci has accepted the job as Medina’s top cop.

Berarducci said he was offered and accepted the job in that city today. Chief since February 2007, the retired federal agent, notified township trustees and Administrator Jason Loree of his decision. A date hasn’t been set for either his resignation from the township or his start in Medina.

“I’m sorry to see the chief go, but he had an opportunity he couldn’t pass up,” Loree said.
