ASSOCIATIONS

• Gold Wing Road Rider Association, Ohio Chapter M, will have its monthly meeting Saturday at Yankee Kitchen, 6635 Market St., Boardman. Dinner will be available at 5 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6. The chapter promotes safe riding. Upcoming rides and the annual picnic in August will be topics of discussion at the meeting. ATHLETIC GROUPS

• Youngstown Baseball Oldtimers Association will have its annual picnic at noon Aug. 13 at Kramer Field on the West Side. For reservations call Ed Garasic at (330) 782-7123.

AUXILIARIES

• Flora MacDonald Auxiliary will meet for lunch at noon Aug. 1 at Shepherd of the Valley Activity Center. Alice Maxwell will be the hostess.

CLUBS

• American Hungarian Club, Donald Avenue, Youngstown, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the clubhouse. Members will discuss the Aug. 2 annual picnic, which will cost $5 for members and $7 for guests; reservations and casseroles are required. Preparations for the September Heritage Day will also be discussed.

• McDonald Parents of Performing Arts will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the McDonald post office building.

• Youngstown American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown, will have their annual picnic and membership drive at 1 p.m. Aug. 2. Members are asked to take a casserole. There is a $5 fee for members and a $7 fee for guests. Call (330) 792-5124 to make a reservation. Those interested in learning about Hungarian culture and culinary skills may call for membership details. Hungarian descent is not a requirement for membership.

• Youngstown South Christian Women’s Club will have a “Summer Fashion Solutions” luncheon at noon Aug. 13 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Featured will be a presentation of Hannah’s Closet (an upscale consignment shop) by Jan Bates; entertainment by Nancy Wardle, soloist; and at talk on “Answers Found for Life’s Struggles” by Ellen Lemke of Toledo. • Youngstown Women’s Connection invites the public to a luncheon, “Food for Thought,” from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 11 at Lucianno’s Banquet Room, 1739 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown (in the Wedgewood Plaza). Doors will open at 11:15 a.m. Features will be Monkey Biz by Janeen Nichols, music by Beth Valantine and a guest speaker, Ellen Lemke. GRANGES

• Dublin Grange will meet at 7 p.m. July 28 at the Grange Hall. Zella Baker will be in charge. Needlework and craft contests will be judged. Articles for the Canfield Fair may be taken to the meeting.

GUILDS

• The Youngstown Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America will meet Tuesday at the I.O.O.F. Hall in Canfield. The morning meeting will begin at 10 a.m., and the evening meeting, at 7:30 p.m. Sally Svoboda will preside. The featured project will be a cross stitch stand up Santa Claus Christmas ornament by Colin Donohue. Take regular stitching supplies and magnification/lighting if necessary. • The Compassionate Friends is a support group for parents who have had the tragic loss of a child. Meetings are the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield.
