Man critical after car-truck collision

AUSTINTOWN — Mark Haag, 26, of Youngstown is in critical condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center this afternoon with injuries suffered in a car-truck collision. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Haag was eastbound on Mahoning Avenue about 12:30 a.m. Thursday when his car went left of center near Victoria Road and collided with a westbound tractor trailer. The truck, driven by Franklin Kurtz, 41, of Fayetteville, Ark., ran over Haag’s car and rescue crews had to cut Haag from his vehicle. Kurtz was not injured. No charges have been filed.
