Babe Ruth 14s win 19-0 at state meet
Three baseball tournaments are scheduled to begin today at Cene Park.

Brandon Richie pitched three perfect innings with five strikeouts for the win as the Youngstown Babe Ruth baseball 14-year-old all-stars remained unbeaten in the state tournament with a 19-0 win over Zanesville.
Jake Stauffer pitched the last two innings, allowing two hits and striking out six.
Jacob Froats lead Youngstown’s offense with a double, a pair of singles and six RBIs. Sean Coyne added a double, a single and three RBIs, while Ryan Strollo and Michael Raschilla both had two hits and combined for three RBIs.
Richie had a double and single and scored twice. Christopher Maze singled and scored three runs, while A.J. Thomas started off the fifth with a double. Stauffer, Ian Simmons and Vic Kuchmaner also had hits in the inning.
Little League softball
IRONTON — Poland’s 11-12 all-stars lost an eight-inning, 1-0 game against Avon in the state tournament, and were eliminated.
Poland Girls had nine hits, by Abby Masluk, Claire Testa, Aleah Hughes, Chloe Bush, Kathryn Wilson and Jenna Schettler. Poland left 10 runners on base.
Poland pitchers Hughes, Bush and Testa allowed only six hits.
In the postseason Poland, which has won three consecutive District 2 championships, outscored their opponents 105-24.
NABF tournaments
Seven teams will take part in the NABF Senior and Junior regional baseball tournament at Cene Park, starting today.
In the NABF Senior (18 and under) regional, Astro Falcons, Rondinelli Tuxedo and 1080 Media will represent the Youngstown Class B League.
1080 Media will play MAF Gators on Cene 1 at 12:30 p.m., while Rondinelli, the champion of the Connie Mack state tournament that concluded on Monday, will play the Ohio Hurricanes at 3 p.m. on Cene 1.
The other first-round game will have Ohio Yankees against Thunder Select on Cene 2 at 3 p.m.
Astro Falcons have a bye in the first round.
In the NABF Junior (16 and under) tournament, Roth Brothers, Rondinelli and Astro Falcons are representing the Class Little b League.
Roth Brothers will play MAF Gators on Cene 1 at 10 a.m., while Rondinelli will play the Toronto (Canada) Mets at 12:30 p.m. on Cene 3.
Also, North Coast Vipers will play Stars Baseball on Cene 2 at 12:30 p.m.
Astro Falcons have a first-round bye.
Colt baseball
The Colt (15-16s) Region tournament will also be held at Cene Park starting today.
Action Physical Therapy and 1080 Media from the Class Little b League are in the field, along with the Tri-T American team.
