A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

July 17

Vehicle theft: A Youngstown-Hubbard Road woman reported the theft of her motorcycle.

Damage: A vehicle at a West Liberty Street business was broken into.

Criminal mischief: Someone removed all the light bulbs from carports at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Youngstown-Hubbard Road.

July 18

Theft: Items were taken from a car in the 600 block of Lloyd Street.

Attempted vehicle theft: A Caroline Avenue woman discovered someone tried to steal a motorcycle she had for sale in her front yard.

July 20

Assault: A Hubbard man faced two counts of assault and one each of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct after a Mackey Street woman alleged her daughter’s boyfriend had assaulted the accuser.

July 21

Drugs: Officers picked up a township man at the Mahoning County jail who was wanted by the Girard Municipal Court on a drug charge.

LIBERTY

July 17

Theft: A Rosie Drive woman reported writing a $43 check to a man who came to her home claiming to be selling meat products but that he never delivered the items.

Drugs: Officers responded to an unwanted person in the 2500 block of Cardinal Drive, where they arrested a 34-year-old Youngstown man on a charge of possession of marijuana. A search turned up an envelope in his pocket containing a small amount of the suspected drug, a report said.

Aggravated menacing: A Wilson Avenue man told police his sister called saying that two men had been threatening him. One of the men apparently stated he was waiting at a business to shoot the accuser when he drove by, a report showed.

Drugs: A traffic stop near Colonial Drive led to drug charges against two Youngstown men, 19 and 20, respectively, when, police said, a large bag of suspected marijuana tucked inside a door covered by insulation, a digital scale and three individually wrapped rocks of suspected crack cocaine were found. One man was charged with possession of criminal tools as well as trafficking in marijuana and crack cocaine; the other faced a drug-abuse charge.

Drugs: Police cited an 18-year-old McDonald man after they discovered a bag of suspected marijuana in his possession during a traffic stop on state Route 193.

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 24, who police had pulled over near Colonial Drive, was taken into custody on a probation-violation charge.

Menacing: A Keefer Road woman told authorities a 16-year-old girl was engaging in a pattern of harassment against the accuser’s daughter.

July 18

Theft: A $450 bicycle was missing from a front porch in the 200 block of Mansell Drive.

Theft: A rear license plate was stolen off a vehicle parked in the 2900 block of Northview Boulevard.

July 19

Arrest: Officers said they saw an intoxicated person walking on Colonial Drive and charged the 52-year-old township man with having an open container of alcohol and disorderly conduct. He also was wanted on a probation-violation count.

Criminal damaging: A fire extinguisher was used to damage the front door to an apartment in the 2900 block of Oakland Street.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a storage shed in the 2800 block of Biscayne Avenue, then removed a self-propelled lawn mower and a weed trimmer. The theft was estimated at $425.

Theft: A Girard man reported two amplifiers, two speakers, a DVD player and other stereo equipment stolen from his car in the 4100 block of Belmont Avenue, for an estimated loss of $1,230.

July 20

Damage: Someone drove off the road, struck the corner of a vinyl fence on Daffodil Lane and caused roughly $1,200 worth of damage.

Criminal mischief/theft: Someone entered a sewer plant in the 6800 block of Belmont Avenue and turned off two main pumps and two valves, causing backups and overflows. Stolen was a $190 sump pump.

Arrest: A 33-year-old man was picked up at his residence on a warrant from Mahoning County.

Arrest: Police booked a city woman, 22, at the Mahoning County Jail on a warrant from the township charging her with a probation violation.

GIRARD

July 20

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 500 block of Mansell Drive before taking a $5,000 dirt bike.

Theft: Two women stole $20 worth of baby products from Family Dollar, 900 N. State St.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 10 block of East Liberty Street. A bag of clothing was recovered nearby.

Theft by deception: A Dearborn Avenue man told police a male in a light gray van claiming to be a surveyor came to his residence before the homeowner discovered roughly $20,000 missing from a bedroom.

Theft: A rear license plate was removed from a vehicle in the 500 block of Park Avenue.

Endangerment: Police received a call from an East Liberty Street business regarding a young child in a diaper and T-shirt wandering through the parking lot and close to the street. The youngster’s father was notified, a report showed.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Joan Avenue man said he allowed a family member to borrow his 1995 Buick LeSabre but that the car was never returned.

July 21

Menacing: A Girard boy reported that while riding his bicycle on Main Street, another boy emerged from his residence and threatened the accuser with a baseball bat.

Theft: An Ella Street man discovered $310 missing from a shirt pocket.

Drug paraphernalia: Authorities responded to a fight in the 400 block of Iowa Avenue and charged a man with possession of drug paraphernalia when, they said, a suspected marijuana pipe was in the residence.

July 22

Theft: A St. Clair Avenue woman reported her $181 cell phone stolen.
