A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

BOARDMAN

July 17

Breaking and entering: Several tools were taken from a maintenance office someone had broken into at the Southern Park Mall.

Domestic violence: A 41-year-old township man was arrested at his residence on a warrant.

Arrest: Authorities, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, arrested a 19-year-old Youngstown man at his home. He was wanted by township police on charges of aggravated burglary, assault and domestic violence.

Menacing: An employee of a Boardman-Canfield Road business told police a woman upset about a bill threatened over the phone to blow up the office.

Theft: A 28-year-old East Liverpool woman faced a felony charge, accused of taking $735.40 worth of clothing from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A woman, 20, and a man, 23, both of Youngstown, were charged in the theft of $327.62 worth of DVDs from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Arrest: A Warren man, 34, faced charges of criminal simulation, resisting arrest and obstructing official business after a counterfeit $644 payroll check had been passed at Celebrity Sportswear, 3980 Hillman Way. Police found the man hiding in a nearby trash bin after he had led them on a foot pursuit, a report said.

Domestic violence: A township man, 45, was taken into custody on a warrant from Columbiana County.

Theft: A Fort Pierce, Fla., woman reported the theft of her driver’s license while at a South Avenue motel.

Vehicle theft: A 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen from a residence in the 6800 block of Lockwood Boulevard.

Breaking and entering: Twenty-four cans of beer, eight liquor bottles and eight compact discs were taken after someone had entered a Jennette Drive residence through a window.

Theft: Eight baby outfits were stolen from Gymboree in the Southern Park Mall.

Arrest: A city man, 55, was picked up on a felony warrant from Boardman charging him with criminal simulation.

July 18

Theft: Items were stolen from a woman’s purse in the 5600 block of South Avenue.

Citations: Three township boys, 15, 16 and 17, were cited on charges of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct after officers responded to a possible prowler near Pierce Drive. The three had been ringing doorbells and causing a nuisance, a report showed.

Theft: A $10,000 gold diamond ring was stolen from a residence in the 7400 block of West Parkside Drive.

Theft: A $120 lawn mower was removed from a Market Street business.

Theft: A worker for Rental Corral, 4627 Market St., told police someone gave the business $60 to rent a 2-horsepower air compressor, a compressor hose and a roof gun, but failed to return the property by the agreed-upon date.

Arrest: A 23-year-old township man was picked up at his residence on a warrant from Portage County charging him with interference with custody of a child.

Possible theft: A dealer plate was lost or stolen from a vehicle belonging to a Market Street dealership.

July 19

Theft: A Youngstown girl, 16, was charged after $38 worth of cosmetics was stolen from Wal-Mart.

Assault: A Tam-O-Shanter Drive woman was not injured after reporting she had been assaulted.

Breaking and entering: A garage door on Hopkins Road had been forced open. Stolen were 50 bottles of cologne and other items.

Attempted burglary: A neighbor reported seeing a man fleeing on foot after someone had tried to open the front door to a Sciota Avenue home.

July 20

Theft: A cell phone was removed from a locker at a McClurg Road business.

Drugs: Two Struthers men, 23 and 24, faced felony drug counts after having been pulled over near Interstate 680 and U.S. Route 224. Charges were possession of cocaine and a controlled substance when, officers said, a vehicle search revealed two small bags of suspected crack cocaine.

Counterfeit/menacing: A $2,900 check later determined to be phony was cashed at a South Avenue bank, and two employees reported their lives had been threatened.

Menacing: A worker for a Market Street store told police someone left a voice mail message threatening to kill the accuser.

Criminal damaging: Someone broke a $20 lawn ornament in the 4100 block of Shelby Road.

Theft: A rear license plate was stolen off a car in the 5200 block of South Avenue.

Theft: A 41-year-old Youngstown man was charged with theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct after nine DVDs had been stolen from Family Video, 5205 Market St. A suspected crack pipe was found, police said.

July 21

Arrest: A Boardman man, 22, was taken into custody on multiple probation-violation warrants after being pulled over near Southern Boulevard. Charges were telephone harassment and domestic violence.

Menacing: A 26-year-old South Avenue man was charged after a neighbor alleged the man had threatened the accuser’s wife.

POLAND

July 18

Criminal mischief: Someone shot a BB, breaking a double-pane window at a Center Road church.

Drugs: A traffic stop on state Route 170 led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Youngstown man on a charge of possession of drugs. Fourteen orange pills were in the vehicle, a report said.

Criminal damaging: A window on a front-loader vehicle was shattered on Ridgely Court.

July 19

Criminal damaging: Two construction vehicles were damaged at a construction site near Eastbrooke Trail.
