3 injured from northeastern Pa. house explosion

TANNERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Three home improvement workers have been taken to hospitals following an explosion that destroyed a house in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Jackson Township Fire Chief Cliff Oppelt says two workers were airlifted to a hospital and a third was taken away by ambulance. One man had to be dug out of the rubble after this afternoon’s explosion at The Village at Camelback near Camelback Ski Area in Monroe County, about 70 miles north of Philadelphia.

It was not immediately clear what caused the explosion, though Oppelt says it’s possible that sanding a floor caused a spark that ignited something. Names and conditions of the injured were not immediately available.
