Unemployment rates up in the Mahoning Valley

The unemployment rates in local counties worsened last month.

The state today released these rates for June: Mahoning County, 13.9 percent, up from 12.2 percent in May; Trumbull County, 15.5 percent, up from 14.3 percent in May; and Columbiana County, 14.7 percent, up from 13.3 percent.

The rates in all of the counties are about double what they were a year ago.
