Rose society lists winners of June show

YOUNGSTOWN — A wide variety of entries were submitted for the two-day Mahoning Valley Rose Society rose show at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park. Judging took pace on June 20 and public viewing was June 21.

Capturing the Best in Show award for his Glamis Castle rose was Jason Lawton. He also won the HT Court award and awards for best climber, best OGR, Dowager Queen, Richard Stromberg Trophy, Mini Queen, Mini King, Mini Court, MiniFl Queen, MiniFl King, MiniFl Court., and MiniFl Princess.

Other winners were as follows:

•Patricia Martinec, HT Queen, HT King, Best HT Spray, Best Classic Shrub, Elizabeth Fellows Trophy, MiniFl Court, Best MiniFl Spray, and Best Rose Bowl MiniFl Bloom.

•Tom Herr, HT Princess, Best Floribunda, Best Modern Shrub and Judge Mini/MiniFl.

•Margaret Raupach, HT Court, HT Open Bloom, Most Fragrant Rose, Mini Princess, Mini Court and Best Miniature Open Bloom.

•Carolyn Holt, Best Rose Bowl LG.

•Andrea Pernotto, Best FL spray, Best Miniature Spray and Best Mini Climber.

•Joan Sewickley, Best Polyantha Spray.
