Annual car show Sunday in McDonald

McDONALD—The McDonald Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 194 will have its annual “Thunder in the Park 2009” car show Sunday in Woodland Park.

The event is free. Registration fee is $6 in advance and $8 the day of the show. Advance registration should be mailed to Diz Dean, 403 McKinley Blvd., McDonald, Ohio, 44437. For more information, call Dean at (330) 530-1717.

The show will be from 4 to 8 p.m. and registration is 2 to 5 p.m. and judging will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Plaques will be awarded to the top 50 cars. Awards will include: Top Five, 2000 and up, Mayor’s Award, Chief of Police Award and FOP President’s Award. There will be only one award per car.

The day’s events will include music by D.J. Crazy Dave, door prizes, a 50-50 raffle and FOP T-shirts.

Food and soft drinks will be available with picnic tables, a playground, a kiddie pool and games of cornhole. Proceeds benefit the McDonald FOP Lodge and its numerous charities. Rain date for the event is Sept. 13.
