Man arrives at Ohio death house for Tues execution

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A man who went on a crime spree that left five dead over the 1992 Christmas holiday has arrived at Ohio’s death house for his planned Tuesday execution.

Marvallous Keene was moved from death row at the State Penitentiary in Youngstown and arrived at the state prison in Lucasville at 9:43 a.m. today.

Prisons spokeswoman Julie Walburn says he is being processed by the medical team.

At the time of the murders, Keene was a churchgoing teenager who sang in the choir and had no previous criminal record. A lawyer says he was despondent over the death of his brother, who was shot and killed a year before the slayings.

Now 36, Keene was to receive his special meal at 4 p.m. Only his two attorneys are scheduled to witness the execution on his behalf.
