Car show Sunday in McDonald

McDONALD—The McDonald Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 194 will hold it’s annual “Thunder in the Park 2009” car show Sunday. The event is free. Registration for the event is $6 in advance and $8 the day of the show. Advance registration and should be mailed to Diz Dean, 403 McKinley Blvd., McDonald, Ohio, 44437. The show will be from 4 to 8 p.m. and registration is 2 to 5 p.m. and judging will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Plaques will be awarded to the top 50 cars. Awards will include: Top Five, 2000 and up, Mayor’s Award, Chief of Police Award and FOP President’s Award. There will be only one award per car.

The day’s events will include: D.J. “Crazy Dave,” door prizes, a 50-50 raffle and FOP T-shirts.

Food and soft drinks will be available with picnic tables, a playground, a kiddie pool and games of cornhole. Proceeds from the show benefit the McDonald FOP Lodge and it’s numerous charities. Rain date for the event is Sept. 13.
