Three arrested and charged with abduction

YOUNGSTOWN — Three city men were arrested Saturday and charged with abduction, accused of keeping a 42-year-old man in a South Side convenience store against his will.

Police were called to Petra Food Mart, Elm Street, around 2 p.m. Upon arrival, an officer found the door locked with four men inside.

One of the men unlocked the door to let the officer in.

The victim told police that he had been held in the store against his will and that the other three had threatened to beat him.

The other men, Musa Alhamid, 47, of Orlo Avenue; Ali Allawanseh, 23, of Kendis Circle; and Raed Alhamamed, 39, of Colonial Drive, told the officer that they believed the man is one of two people who broke into their store earlier in the week. They said they were unaware of the door being locked, they didn’t threaten the man and they only wanted him to tell them the identity of the other person who broke into the store.

Alhamid, Allawaseh and Alhamamed were arrested.
