Julie Ann Work of Poland and Nicholas Edward Walko of Canfield announce their engagement and plans for their summer wedding.

She is the daughter of Bruce Work of New Springfield and Patricia Work of Poland, and he is the son of Thomas Walko of Findlay and Barbara Walko of Canfield.

The open wedding ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown. The reception, by invitation, will follow at the Avalon Inn in Howland.

The bride-elect graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University in Kent with a bachelor’s degree. She earned her juris doctor degree magna cum laude from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh.

The prospective groom is employed by Patent Construction as a union carpenter out of Local 171.
