Jones anniversary to be celebrated at open reception

SALEM — Chapel of Friendly Bells in Youngstown was the setting July 30, 1949, as Robert A. Jones and Betty L. Arkwright were united in marriage.
The 60th anniversary of that day will be celebrated on Aug. 8 as friends and relatives gather to honor Mr. and Mrs. Jones during an open house from 4 to 8 p.m. at their home, 8730 W. South Range Road.
Hosts for the festivity will be their son and his wife, Robert W. and Vicki Jones of Salem, and their daughter and her husband, Jane A. and John Mihalko of New Springfield. Completing the family are eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones was a teacher with South Range Local Schools in North Lima prior to retiring in 1996.
Mr. Jones served 18 months with the US Army in Europe during World War II. He is the semiretired owner-operator of an excavating business in Salem.
The couple are members of Zion Hill Church of the Brethren.
