CANFIELD — Mr. and Mrs. Robert Borda of Canfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a week of activities at a beach-front home in Kure, N.C.

The trip was a gift from their family, Rhonda and Jack Rosen and their children, Alexis, John and Anna Lee, all of Columbus; Beth Borda of Canton; Darla and Erik Larson of Columbus; and Dana and Ramzi Ammari and their children, Paris, Grey and Pierce, of Newport Coast, Calif.

The former Donna Bongiorno and Mr. Borda were married June 6, 1959, at Christian Assembly Church in Erie, Pa.

Mrs. Borda, a homemaker, was a Sunday school teacher and involved in Bible studies and in women’s ministries with Dorcas Fellowship and Youngstown Chapter of Women’s Aglow. She was employed by her husband as a secretary for his business.

Mr. Borda, a carpenter by trade, worked in construction. In 1959 the firm of Ranelli and Borda Inc. was formed, and in 1974 Borda became owner and operator of Borda Builders Inc. and built homes and condos in Boardman, Canfield and the surrounding area. He served as trustee and usher at his church.

Since retiring, the Bordas divide their time between homes in Canfield and in Clearwater, Fla., where they attend First Assembly of God Church.
