Historical society benefit is Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN — Hot Nights, Cool Delights, a party to benefit the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Burt Building, 325 W. Federal St., downtown. Admission is $25 for MVHS members and $40 for nonmembers (which includes a one-year membership). To make reservations, go to mahoninghistory.org, or call (330) 743-2589.

Tickets purchased at the door will be $35 for members and $50 for nonmembers.

The MVHS intends to renovate the Burt Building and turn it into a museum of local history. The goal of Saturday’s event is to raise awareness of that effort and to increase MVHS membership.

Celebrity bartenders will include Todd Hancock of Easy Street Productions and Amanda Beagle, former Miss Ohio. There will be a silent auction, with music by Second Avenue Project. Free parking will be available in the adjacent lots.
