Tremaine Aldon Neverson, known by his stage name Trey Songz, is an American recording artist, producer and actor. Record producer Troy Taylor discovered Songz during a talent show, which led him to a record contract with Atlantic Records.

His first studio album, “I Gotta Make It,” debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200. It featured the singles “Gotta Make It” and “Gotta Go.”

His second album, “Trey Day,” offered a guest appearance by Bun B. Singles getting special recognition were “Wonder Woman,” “Can’t Help But Wait” and “Last Time.” “Can’t Help But Wait” earned Songz his first Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

His third studio album, “Ready,” is scheduled to be released in August. The album was preceded by the first single, “I Need a Girl.”

Before the release of “Ready,” Songz released the mixtape “Anticipation," on June 30 on his blog seefurtherthaniam.com. The mixtape is a 13-track set released to help build anticipation for his album release. This mixtape is the second released by Songz this year. The first was titled “Genesis.” This is a collection of Songz’s first recorded when he was 15 years old.
