Struthers scholarship fundraiser set for Saturday

STRUTHERS — The Boundless for Brandon Organization, which honors the memory of a Struthers High School graduate who died last year, will have a scholarship benefit Saturday.

The benefit begins at the Struthers High School Fieldhouse at 10 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m.

The money raised will go toward a scholarship for a high school graduate. The event will also raise awareness about self-injury, suicide and drug and alcohol abuse. Brandon Trevis was 21 years old when he took his own life Oct. 14.

The event will feature an informational program, booths and information for counseling, face-painting for children, a bounce-a-round, dunk booth, Chinese Auction with more than 60 items, a silent auction, a 50-50 raffle and refreshments.

The event costs $20 per adult, $10 per student, or $40 per family. Children under 5 get in free.

There is also a fund set up at the Struthers Federal Credit Union for people who wish to contribute.
