Masonic banquet to be August 8

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. — Calumet Lodge 25, F&AM, will have an annual Masonic banquet at 6 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Radisson Hotel, state Route 18.
The featured speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Morris W. Lee, pastor of Third Baptist Church in Youngstown.

About the speaker
Dr. Lee was born in Isle of Wight County, Va., and raised in Portsmouth, Va., He attended Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history and became narrator and soloist with the university choir, chief justice of the student court and basileus of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. After graduating cum laude with a Master of Divinity degree from the graduate school of religion, he was minister of Jerusalem Baptist Church of Doswell, Va. In 1960 he was called to be the pastor of the Youngstown church.
Active in civic, community and ecclesiastic endeavors, not only in Youngstown but throughout the state, Dr. Lee has been a member of numerous clubs, committees and boards. He held many offices and has served as president of the Youngstown Ministerial Association and of Mahoning Valley Council of Churches.
Lee is a member of Rising Sun Lodge 90, Bazaleel Consistory 15 and the United Supreme Council Prince Hall Affiliation. He is also associate grand chaplain of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State of Ohio.
Dr. Lee taught several years in the Youngstown Extension of American Baptist Theological Seminary of Nashville and in the Black Studies Program at Youngstown State University. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Virginia Union University and completed requirements toward a doctorate in ministry from Ashland University.
Dr. Lee and his wife, Beverly, have a son, Morris Jr., and a daughter, Miriam.
