Judas Priest fan’s listening habit gets him noticed
MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — The band’s managers want to meet with an Ohio heavy-metal fan who says he has listened to the latest Judas Priest album every day for more than a year.
Jim Bartek of the Cleveland suburb of Maple Heights says that’s a lot of listening when you consider the album “Nostradamus” is an hour and 45 minutes long. But the 49-year-old truck shop employee says you can hear it over and over and always hear something new.
A Cleveland radio station (WJCU) has been tracking Bartek’s streak since the 30th day, a month after the album was released in June 2008.
Judas Priest performed in Cleveland on Tuesday, and Bartek received a third-row ticket.
The band released a statement thanking him for his support, and the management said it wanted to see him after the show.
